Our Story
Founded in 1974 in the United Kingdom, Penn Elcom started as Penn Fabrication, a small hardware supplier for the growing flight case market. Today, we’ve grown into a global organization with manufacturing and distribution facilities in over 10 countries, supporting thousands of customers with fast delivery and consistent quality.
From our early roots in the live event industry to today’s broad portfolio of engineered solutions, Penn Elcom has always been driven by customer needs, hands-on design, and manufacturing expertise.

Our History
1974
Penn Fabrication formed as a metal fabricator in Penn, United Kingdom.
1981
Begins to make first handles for building flight cases.
Penn Fabrication attends its first music fair in Frankfurt.
1986
Penn Fabrication USA opens in New Jersey. 
1987
Opens a depot in California, USA.
1988
Opens a depot in Texas, USA and Tokyo, Japan. 
1989
Opens manufacturing facility in Hastings, United Kingdom. 
1991
Opens largest manufacturing facility in Newcastle, United Kingdom.
1995
Invents the MOL range of flight case latches that go on to revolutionize flight case hardware.
Opens a depot in Ontario, Canada. 
1996
Opens a depot in Melbourne, Australia. 
2003
Penn Fabrication acquire US competitor Elcom, forming the largest flight case hardware manufacturer in the world.
All European sales and distribution consolidated in Emmerich, Germany. 
2005
Make largest overseas investment to date by purchasing a 130,000 sq.ft factory in Dongguan, China and employing 300 people. 
2006
Penn Elcom Chile opens. 
2007
Penn Elcom Colombia opens. 
2011
Penn Elcom Peru opens. 
Penn Elcom acquire CLD Distribution, experts in cables, connectors and LED lighting.
2012
Penn Elcom Malaysia opens. 
2013
Penn Elcom Mexico opens. 
2016
Penn Elcom's first e-commerce platform launches - PennElcomOnline.
2017
Penn Elcom invests in first Salvagnini machine.
2021
Major update of LED department with new machines and custom services.
Launches crating hardware range.
