The free-to-use designer is user-friendly and easy to navigate. You can easily position your components with the drag-and-drop interface including cutouts, images and text. Panel Designer has a wide range of standard cutouts for popular and universal products (like connectors, power outlets, buttons, etc.) making it easy to design a functional panel. A visual of your panel will help you see how the custom panel will look once manufactured. The panels you create can be designed for use with our 19 inch enclosures and rack systems.
Whether you are a beginner, a professional or a business, Panel Designer is simple to use and produces quality results every time. With these general steps, you can have your custom panel designed in minutes!
1 - Access Panel Designer on the Penn Elcom Tools & Software page, or by clicking Panel Designer under the Tools in the website navigation bar.
2 - Start your design using the blank template. You can increase the size of your panel up to 6U by clicking the + and – icons above or below the right of the panel.
3 - Select, place, and adjust components and cutouts. With the customizations available simply select the option you would like and click it to add it to your panel and drag to the desired location. Under view options, you can select snap to grid, snap to HE, and snap to cutouts to help with precise placement.
4 - Add custom features. You can add a logo, text, or custom shape/cutouts to your panel.
5 - Once you are happy with the panel, press Order Panel to add your design to the cart. You can also save and share the panel by clicking the Save icon next to your panel name in the toolbar so you can view, edit or reorder it at any time.
