What is the inside clearance ...Inside face of the door to the mounting strips. eg how much room for patch cables or switches?

Note the front rails are adjustable to allow them to be put further back...
Neutrik specifies the D, DL, and DLX connectors as exact interchanges for panel cutouts. Why does Penn Elcom say this R2269/1UK-12 panel is exclusively for DLX series?
“The R2269 range should work with any D-series connector, rear or front mount. Except connectors with a push to release button, which can only be front mounted. “
